Developing Conventions

Within my media product one of the main ways in which I have developed the conventions of other media products is through the characters within my own product. After researching other Teen Rom Coms I came a across a character from the film Mean Girls. Her name is Regina George, she is a popular girl who is very bitchy and very mean to others. I showed this character to my group and we decided to have our own Regina in our media product. We called her Laci Allen and changed her style and appearance to suit in with the current fashions of costumes as our product was made 13 years after Mean Girls so fashions are obviously going to be different. Now although her appearance was different she still had the same underlining characteristics of the character we based her on Regina George. Overall, we took the idea of Regina George, removed and remodelled her physical appearance but kept all of her characteristics.
