Mise en Scene

Costume: In the opening scene of LOL we see the main character wearing a costume that you would a imagine a typical teenage girl  would wear. This would relate to the target audience as they too would wear typical teenage clothes. The audience will feel that they are similar to Lola because they wear the same clothing. This will bring the audience closer to the characters and film and overall will make the film more enjoyable for the audience.

Setting: In the opening scene of LOL the setting used is a stereotypical high school. This is relatable for the audience as they too may go to a high school which is similar to the one in the film. This connection that the audience builds with the film due to the relatable setting makes the film more enjoyable for them.

Props: In the opening scene of LOL the props used are mobile phones. This suggests to the audience that lola is just like any normal teenage girl texting all her friends on her phone. This can make the audience believe that they can be just like the character as they most likely do things like that aswell, the audience becomes closer to the characters because of this and makes the film more enjoyable for them as they can relate to the characters.

Two Shot: In the opening scene of LOL we see a two shot when Lola is with her boyfriend Chad. The two shot suggests a relationship between the two of them and the audience may be able to relate to this because they themselves may be in relationships and that connection that the audience will have will the character will make the film more enjoyable for them as the film will remind them of their own lives.

Establishing Shot: In the opening scene of LOL we see an establishing shot of A major city in America, presumably New York. These of the establishing shot helps the audience understand the film better as they know where it is set. It can also help the audeince relate to the film as cities are largely populated places meaning that a large number of the target audience will be able to relate to living in a large city and therefore the film will be more enjoyable.

POV Shot: In the opening scene of LOL there is a POV shot present. It is from the view of the main character Lola. This straight away helps the audience form a bond with the characters in the film as the audience can see from the characters perspective. This connection that is then formed makes the film more enjoyable for the audience as they are closer to the characters.
