Mise En Scene
Costume: In the opening scene of ATPS I can see that costume is present. The use of costume allows the audience to see what kind of person all the characters are. For example, through the use of costume the audience can see that the main character Georgia is not a typical teenage girl as she turns up to a party wearing a stuffed olive costume which, compared to everyone else at the party who is wearing normal teenage outfits, stands out like a sore thumb. This, to the audience, shows that she is not afraid to go against the social norms and stand out showing she is courageous and brave. As a result of this the audience will start to like her and this will encourage them to carry on watching the whole film as they like the characters that are present in what they have seen so far.
Setting: In the opening scene of ATPS relatable setting are used for the audience. Settings included in the opening scene of ATPS consist of parties and Beaches. These settings are very relatable to the target audience of the film (Teenager) as you are young, especially in your teenage years you tend to go to a lot of parties so by seeing parties in the opening scene the audience will be alot more comfortable as it is a familiar setting to them which as a result of this can also make the film more enjoyable for the audience.
NVC: In the opening scene of ATPS we see the use of NVC when Georgia first enters the party. Everybody stops and stares at Georgia with shocked facial expressions. This immediately isolates her from everyone else making her seem much more different to everyone else. Because of this, the audience will feel sympathy for her creating a bond and the audience will want to watch more of the film as they have created an emotional connection with Georgia, the main character.

Over the Shoulder Shot: In the opening scene of ATPS we see the use of an Over the Shoulder Shot when Georgia is speaking to her friends at the party. This allows the audience to see from her perspective and also shows a connection between the characters. By seeing from the perspective of the main character, the audience automatically creates this connection with her and this brings them closer to Georgia making them more inclined to watch the whole film as they have this bond with the main character meaning the film will be more enjoyable. Also the audience will be able to connect with the main character and her friends through the Over the shoulder shot as it shows them all together meaning they are all in this group, and as they the target audience is teenagers, the likelihood is most of the audience will be in some sort of friend group like the one the characters in ATPS are in.
Tracking Shot: In the opening scene of ATPS we see the use of a tracking shot when Georgia is running away from the party after she has been let down by her friends. This use of the tracking shot shows to the audience that she is running away from the party and therefore connotes to the audience that Georgia is possibly upset about her friends embarrassing her and as a result of this the audience will sympathise for her. This emotion that they have consequently felt for Georgia will bring them closer to her and the film as they have an emotional connection with Georgia.
POV Shot: In the opening scene of ATPS we see a POV shot when Georgia is running along the sea on the promenade. The use of a POV shot allows the audience to see from the perspective of the characters and allows them to get closer to them as a result of it. The audience then feels much closer to the characters and therefore enjoys the film more as they have that closer connection with the characters.

Shot Reverse Shot: In the opening scene of ATPS we see the use of a shot reverse shot when Georgia is at the party talking to her friends. `ther use of a Shot Reverse Shot suggests to the audience that there is a relationship between there 4 of them. Much like the over the shoulder shot this helps the audience connect with the Characters as the shot reverse shot shows that the 4 characters are in a friend group and much like the characters most of the audience are probably in some sort of friendship group also. This mean that the audience can feel closer to the characters and the film will be more enjoyable for them.
Quick Cuts: In the opening scene of ATPS quick cuts are used when Georgia first enters the party, the quick cuts in the scene can connote confusion and disorientation, these connotations mimic how Georgia is feeling inside when she realises how silly se looks. As a result of this the audience will sympathise for her and therefore as a result of this the audience will create this emotional attachment to Georgia and therefore they will be closer to her and the film making he whole experience more enjoyable for the audience.
Foley: In the opening scene of ATPS the use of foley is present. This, for the audience, makes the films more realistic much like ambient sound does with soundtrack. Examples of foley include the ding of the lamppost when Georgia walks into it or when we hear the cat eating food in the fridge. By adding in sound after filming the quality of sound increases drastically. This will mean that the audience will enjoy the film more as it is better quality.
Soundtrack
Score: In the opening scene of ATPS we see the use of score as Georgia starts to run away from the party. The use of score appeals to the target audience of the film (Teenagers) as the genre of the score is pop and that is a genre that is very popular amongst teenagers. If the target audience hears music that they enjoy in the opening scene of the film they will be more inclined to stay and watch the whole of the film and possibly tell their friends about it.
Ambient Sound: In the opening scene of ATPS we hear the ambient sound present. The use of ambient sound makes the film more realistic to the audience as it makes sure that normal day to day sounds are present in the scene. These are noises that the audience will expect to hearand hen they do hear them it will make them feel more relaxed as everything is how it should be.
Diminuendo: In the opening scene of ATPS the use of a Diminuendo is present. The diminuendo in the opening scene indicates to the audience that the end of the title sequence is near and that the rest of the film is about to begin. Therefore the audience can prepare themselves for the rest of the film as they have been warned it is about to come up.
