We have chosen quite a stereotypical layout as we want to allow each individual member to be able to convey there musical talent.
We have our lead singer at the front of the band as we want him to be the member of the band that everyone aspires to be like. He needs to be a role model to the viewers that are watching the video. However, I recognise that with indie music videos and with bands in general it is important to convey the talent of all member so with blocking we have made sure that no member is covered up, and if they are we will give them shots within the video of of solos, licks and riffs.
Also we will add AMPS and speakers on set to make the musical performance much more realistic and believable. This will allow the music video to have a very authentic feel and allow the members of the band to feel more comfortable to the setting as this will give them a more familiar environment.
We will also be using microphones and mic stands to add a focal point to the shot and all the members to work with the mic as a prominent prop.
Narrative Props - Ryan Nugent
The narrative props for our music video are very important because they help build the setting and the scene around the couple. We will be using a tent in the background of our forest/camping shots to show they are camping and planning to spend the night alone with each other in the woods. The campfire and marshmallows help build the camping scene as well because roasting marshmallows on a campfire is a classic thing to do while camping and it helps establish what is happening in the story.
We will also be using a car to show off the journey the couple are taking together and also to establish it is just them taking this journey which gives off a romantic vibe. In our music video we plan to have the couple chuck sticks at each other and play around it give off a fun/energetic vibe but also a romantic and cute one at the same time which we believe will fit the song well. We will also be using the nature around us as our props for example the guy will pick up a daisy and give it to the girl to create this cute and romantic moment within the music video.
